Mr. Sumner is a graduate of Samford University. He is a CLO, Certified Loan Officer, and is a Member and Senior Loan Officer at Principal Mortgage. His responsibilities include managing company operations and assisting the production staff of six and two support staff. Additionally, he assists in managing budget, production, profitability, and growth.



Previously, Mr. Sumner managed construction lending for all six branch locations of a regional mortgage company, in which annual production ranged from $40 – $50 million dollars. While there, his personal production averaged at an annual production volume of $20,500,000.



Mr. Sumner has served in various roles in the financial and insurance industries for the last 18 years, including owning an insurance firm.



Mr. Sumner is a member of the Greater Birmingham Homebuilder’s Association; the Vestavia Hills Rotary, where he is a current Committee Chair; the Vestavia Hills Chamber of Commerce, where he is a current Ambassador; and is a member of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church, where he is on the Board of Deacons.
